Kamal Govindasamy serves as the President of SJTA. Kamal has been associated with South Jersey Tamil Association for the past 13 years. Prior to his current role, Kamal played a leading role in several SJTA committees, teaching in Tamil school, organizing key events and was also Treasurer of our association in 2009.
Software profession by training, Kamal and his wife, Chithra, have two daughters Sudarshana and Tharunika and one son Hariharan Ram. “I love the
close-knit community that SJTA fosters”, he says. “SJTA is the reason we consider South Jersey as truly a home away from home. In addition to providing my daughters and son with Tamil education, and inculcating them with the values of our culture, we have developed long-lasting friendships via our association with SJTA. The group is large enough to organize big events like Diwali, but still small enough for personal interactions between all its members”.
